Health Ministry Teams Promote Health & Wholeness

Congregations with Health Ministry Teams truly become "centers" for health and wholeness as they coordinate health information and lifestyle applications within the framework of spiritual care. The goal of health ministry is healthy behavior for all ages and an improved, sustainable quality of life.
Health ministry teams are composed of members of the congregation who have a love for God, an interest in health and a desire to help others. These teams are representative of the demographics of the congregations and include people of all ages, cultures, backgrounds and spiritual gifts. Often congregations place only those with medical or health backgrounds as members of the health team. While these individuals surely have much to offer to a health ministry, congregational health ministry teams include a diverse cross-section of the membership in order to develop participation in the ministry within the context of the congregation's mission and vision.

Health Ministry Team Building

Individuals involved in lay health education are members of the congregation's health ministry team who develop and lead out in whole-person health programs which inform, motivate and minister to others.
The ultimate goal of health ministry is to equip each member to incorporate whole person health principles and experience the abundant life promised by God — physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
