Health Ministry Team Building Course
The Health Ministry Team Building Course is an 8 hour course and includes:
- Two 4-hour training sessions (8 hours)
- One 2 hour support session
- Training manual and textbook, “Building Healthy Communities Through Medical-Religious Partnerships”, by Dan Hale, Ph.D.
- Certificate of completion
As a part of Florida Hospital’s commitment to building healthy communities through the development of Health Ministry in the Greater Orlando area, we are sponsoring the Health Ministry Team Building Course. This revised 8-hour training program is given in 2 sessions of classroom education. There is a 3rd follow-up support session. It is important that the attendees from your congregation plan to attend all 3 sessions in order to be fully prepared.
The program trains your congregation’s members and/or health ministry team to:
- understand community health issues, principles of whole person health, and health behavior change;
- identify community resources;
- implement successful congregational health surveys;
- plan and implement successful health awareness and lifestyle programs within the congregation.
The Health Ministry Team Building training is offered:
Session 1: Saturday, 2:00 pm Registration, 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Session 2: Sunday, 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Session 3: Thursday Evening, 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm
The class is held at Florida Hospital Orlando Cancer Center Conference Room A, 3rd Floor. For the convenience of the attendees, a light supper is provided each evening.
We invite you to select members to attend who have a passion for people and a concern for health and wholeness. If you have a health ministry team established, you may choose to send your parish nurse and the team members. This course is a community benefit from Florida Hospital and is offered without charge to those who attend.
Seating is limited, so reserve a spot for your health ministry team quickly. As air conditioning can be cool, please bring a sweater or light jacket. For more information on the training, please contact us. The registration form can be faxed to 407-303-7190.
We look forward to working with you as you lead your congregation towards whole-person health.
